Book Competition Winners – January 26, 2020

Tuesday, 28 January 2020

9 years and below
An event I enjoyed this year
I went to a Christmas party. It was held at my best friend’s home. My father, mother, brother and my little sister also participated. My friend and I decorated their Christmas tree. My mother helped at the party. My brother took photos in front of the Christmas tree. We danced for lovely songs. We ate Christmas cake and drank cool drinks. We played games and won gifts from Santa. We listened to Christmas songs. We took our dinner and after that we watched a Christmas movie. The movie was very nice.
Then my friend kept the statue of Baby Jesus in the crib. It was decorated with colourful bulbs. Finally we wished Merry Christmas to all. I enjoyed the party a lot.

Seeing the New Year in
The bells toll, doors open, and people come out of their homes and the clock strikes twelve, marking the dawn of a New Year.
New Year’s Eve is an important event in the year. Before the dawn of the New Year, people change their surroundings; they wash their homes, relocate furniture, decorate houses and engage in gardening. People want something new as a brand new year is about to arrive. People also visit their close friends and families in order to strengthen their relationships as the New Year arrives.
Of course, we all make New Year resolutions and make new plans, hoping to turn over an old leaf. It is also the perfect time to remember our past and use those memories, rethink and teach oneself a lesson and change for good. The arrival of a new year could make you feel as if you are able to change; that you are capable of reconstructing your character and be a better person. This is how New Year’s Eve could basically make you someone different; someone better than usual. If one is able to change himself for the betterment of his own self as well as others, then that is the best New Year resolution anyone could make.
The dawn of a new year to the world is also the dawn of a new year to one’s life. The wisest would see the New Year as a perfect opportunity to make it the best year of their lives. We wish that everyone would have a very joyful, happiness filled New Year, as we open our arms to welcome the year 2020.
