Back to school after the long break
Wow! It was an awesome! A lovely long waited for morning with fantastic weather. I woke up in the morning, had a shower and wore my new pair of black shoes. Then I rushed downstairs to have my breakfast. After breakfast I carried my new school bag which had new books wrapped in lovely wrappers and headed off to school.
I cannot describe the excitement I felt when I arrived at school. I met new friends as well as my old friends. The new class teacher came in and we had a good conversation with all our friends. We were so happy that we went each other after a whole month. All of us went to the garden and played. Since it was the first day the teacher gave some quizzes and fun-filled activities. The day came to an end and we came home with lots of stories to tell our parents.

A new hobby I picked up during the recent break
While continuing my usual hobbies, I was determined to choose a new hobby in this pandemic season. It is writing to the Funday Times. It makes me very pleased and brings joy to me when my mother brings the Sunday Times magazine and my brother and I sift along the pages to find out what’s new.
I write to the Book Competition and Kids World. I once wrote answers for the Tomahawk Competition and I drew a picture for the Reeves Art Competition. Though I read the English newspapers, I don’t find it a lot of trouble to go through the Kids News. When the postman arrives, ringing his bell, we run to the door to see whether we have got presents for the competitions we have written to.
I am very fond of this wonderful and fantastic hobby of writing to the Funday Times once a week. It not only brings entertainment, it also improves our language and writing skills.
I do really enjoy myself when writing to the Funday Times. Also, I am grateful and appreciate the Funday Times for letting us enjoy and have fun during this difficult time. I like this hobby very much and would continue it very happily.

World Population Day
We celebrate many remarkable days all over the world. Mother’s Day and Children’s Day are some of them. Among these, World Population Day is not much well-known but it takes quite a prominent place. This significant day is celebrated on July 11 annually. This was first commenced in 1989 under the governance of the council of the United Nations Development Programme.
In 2019, the world population was approximately 7.7 billion according to the census. This day is commemorated with the aim of increasing people’s awareness on various population issues such as the importance of family planning, gender equality, poverty, mental health and human rights. It’s obvious that many issues like environmental pollution occur with the increasing population. This day is important to find solutions to the crisis of over population.
Many associations hold seminars, workshops and competitions on this day to make people more aware. I think the Funday Times alsohas attempted to raise awareness among teenagers like us about World Population Day and the importance of it.
So it is our duty to work together and find solutions for the issues regarding population and pay homage to this praise-worthy celebration.
